Ayran, also known as doogh, is a yogurt-based drink popular in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. It is usually consumed as part of the breakfast during the summer.

## Ingredients

- 1 part yogurt (2 parts if you prefer a creamier variety)
|
||||||
|
- 1 part ice-cold water
|
||||||
|
- salt
|
||||||
|
- mint (optional)
|
||||||
|
- basil (optional)
|
||||||
|

||||||
|
## Directions

||||||
|
|
||||||
|
1. Combine the yogurt and the ice-cold water.
|
||||||
|
2. Mix well until no clumps remain.
|
||||||
|
3. Add salt to taste.
|
||||||
|
4. The traditional way to drink it is plain, but you can add some additional flavours with chopped mint or basil.
