This is adapted from my grandmother's recipe and is different from the usual recipes found on the web. - ⏲️ Prep time: 2 hrs - 🍳 Cook time: 1-1.5 hrs - 🍽️ Servings: 8 ## Ingredients - 2 cups Green Bell Pepper, diced - 1x 5-inch Yellow or White Onion, diced - 2 cups of Celery, diced (try to get one with lots of green leaves) - 1/4 cup of olive or cooking oil - 1 cup Heinz chili sauce (it looks like ketchup but is not) - [optional] 3 tbsp Frank's RedHot sauce - 1 cup of seedless Golden Raisins - 1 cup of Slivered Almonds - 3x 14.5oz cans of diced tomato - optionally blend one - 1 teaspoon each: pepper, thyme, salt - 2 tsp curry powder - 1/2 cup parsley - 2 lb cleaned and shelled shrimp - cooked white rice ## Directions 1. Sauté raw vegetables in oil 2. add remaining ingredients **except shrimp** 3. simmer 1 hour 4. Add shrimp and cook for 5 minutes 5. Serve over cooked rice 6. [optional] Best if cooked a day ahead and reheated.
