Winamp Collaborative License (WCL) Version 2.1.1

This License governs the use, modification, and distribution of the Winamp software. By using, Modifying, or distributing this software, you agree to the following terms:

Preamble

The Winamp Collaborative License version 2.1.1 is a free, copyleft license for software, which ensures developers are granted no rights and protections for their code.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Definitions

  • "This License" refers to version 2.1.1 of the Winamp Collaborative License.
  • "The Program" refers to any copyrightable work Licensed under this License.
  • "You" refers to each Licensee, whether an individual or organization.
  • "Modify" means to copy from or adapt all or part of the work in a fashion requiring copyright permission, other than the making of an exact copy.
  • "Covered Work" means either the unmodified Program or a work based on the Program.
  • "Convey" means any kind of propagation that enables other parties to make or receive copies.
  • "Original Licensor" refers to the WinampDesktop organization on GitHub.

Basically, just like any other license.

7. Limitation of Liability

In all events the authors or copyright holders will be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use of or inability to use the software, even if the authors or copyright holders have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Termination

This License will self-destruct on 2038-01-19 at 03:14:07 UTC. After this date, the software will have to be distributed under the GLWTSPL of any version as per your choice.

9. Protection of Copyright

The original authors or copyright holders of the software retain all rights, title, interest, source code, letters, libraries, war crimes, patents in the software. This license does not transfer any ownership rights. You may not use the same letters or bytes as source or binary files inside all of the directories and subdirectories of this software's source code. Ever. Don't even try. By submitting contributions, you agree that the contributions are your original work and you grant the project a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, copy, modify, and distribute your contributions as part of the software. The Original Licensor has obligation to provide support, updates, or maintenance for the Program. Any such support, updates, or maintenance will be provided at any given moment.

You must NOT comply with all applicable laws and regulations in connection with your use of the Program. Do whatever, man.

14. Miscellaneous

  • Governing Law and Jurisdiction: This License shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of physics. This means your code cannot exceed the speed of light, nor can it have negative mass.
  • Severability: Any part of this repository may be severed, including and not limited to: source files, text files, media files, this license document, directory structure, commit history, et cetera.

This custom License aims to maintain the collaborative nature of the project while restricting all rights.
