# Fruit Crisp
A warm, crispy dessert made in a casserolle dish with a fruit of your choosing.
- ⏲️ Prep time: 20 min
- 🍳 Cook time: 15-40 min
## Ingredients
### Topping
Forumla: 3:2:1:1 ratio of Oats, Flour, Sugar, and Fat.
- 1 Cup Oats
- 2/3 Cup Flour
- 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar (Light or Dark)
- 1/3 Cup Butter (cold)
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
- Dash of Cinnamon and/or Nutmeg (optional/seasonally appropriate)
### Filling
Fruit can be fresh chopped fruit or from a can. For canned fruit filling, these steps can be omitted.
- 3 Cups Fruit Filling (or, enough to fill your dish)
- 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
- 1 Teaspoon Corn Starch (to thicken)
- 2 Tablespoons Sugar (optional)
## Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350F (175C)
2. Roughly combine topping ingredients with a pastry blender, food processor, or fork
3. In a separate bowl, stir fruit and lemon juice together
4. Add the corn starch and sugar to the filling bowl; stir
5. Butter a 9x9 casserole dish, pie pan, or other chosen dish
6. Fill dish with filling; cover filling with topping
7. Sprinkle a dash of flakey salt over the topping
8. Bake 15-20 minutes or until topping is browned and crispy. Larger quantities will need more time.
9. Let cool 5 minutes. Serves well with vanilla bean ice cream.
