- 1/2 teaspoon salt

||||
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes

||||
- 2 cups water
|
||||
- 1 cup tomato sauce
|
||||
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
|
||||

## Directions
|
||||
|
||||
1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat.
|
||||
2. Add the onion, garlic, and jalapeno (if using) and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
|
||||
3. Add the cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, and salt and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
|
||||
